Austrian CHIP and CTO – going international in 2026

Dear friends and colleagues,

Based on the success of the inaugural Danube CHIP& CTO Meeting in May 2025 we are thrilled to announce the next edition. In 2026, the river carries us further – from the vibrant pulses of Vienna into the calm Wachau Valley, a UNESCO site of natural beauty and cultural heritage.

This move reflects the essence of our work: opening new paths, and embracing transformation. This year, we have chosen to swim upstream, against the current – a decision that is sometimes essential in interventional cardiology when the direct path is not the best one. It challenges us to think differently, adapt, and innovate.

The new Austrian CHIP & CTO International Meeting will stay true to the original multidisciplinary vision and bring together interventional cardiologists and allied specialty enthusiasts across the region and further beyond.

Live cases from local centres will run parallel to cases transmitted from international sites. Well-known international stars will mix with less known experienced high-volume operators.

We aim to help our community to thrive and grow, intend to move future meetings to other international venues and co-host them with local centres, reaching from the Alps to the black Sea. Let us build a network to exchange ideas on how to improve PCI practice to better serve our patients!
